What are microgreens?
the tiny plants that pack a nutritional punch!
Microgreens are the young seedlings of edible vegetables and herbs that are grown in quantity and harvested while they are still juvenile plants. they have bigger flavor and more concentrated nutrients than their full grown counterparts.
What’s the difference between Sprouts and microgreens?
sprouts are harvested as newly grown seeds (before leaves arrive) after growing a week or less. They don’t require sunlight. Microgreens are slightly older and grow in sunlight increasing their nutritional value. The leaves of microgreens capture energy from the sun (or grow lights) and collect the water and nutrients the plant absorbs from the soil. because they are young and growing, the leaves are rich in nutrients.
Health benefits
current research shows that microgreens contain up to a 40% higher concentration of micronutrients when compared to their fully grown counterpart. Each microgreen has its own nutritional profile with benefits that vary depending on the plant (*see our grow menu which includes what we grow with their key nutrients). They contain extremely high levels of powerful vitamins, minerals, and health-supporting components. many of the nutrients in microgreens act as antioxidants which help prevent cell damage. Microgreens are still being studied but research has found that they may also help with these things:

About your farmers
Hello! We are Brent and alyssa, your Husband/wife Farming duo.
Just a couple of highschool sweethearts, born and raised locally in Holland, now raising our two boys on a family-compound hobby farm homestead. together we have always had a passion for plants, gardening and animals. Brent Has been running a landscape business for just over 17 years with extensive knowledge on how to properly grow and care for plants and crops. Alyssa grew up on a hobby farm and after we built a barndominium on her family’s property, she has continued to grow and cultivate that through the years for our family to enjoy. we are working towards creating a more self sustaining homestead one step at a time and Growing microgreens is a big step in that direction.
We are excited to now be able to share these awesome microgreens with you and your family!
